“I grew up near Kadina on the upper Yorke Peninsula which is very farming and sports-based; it wasn’t quite as tight as KI. Here we all have something in common, we live on an island. I was still at school at Kadina when I started playing Junior Football with the Eagles. We drove down twice a week for training. I played football for the U17s, then the U19s there and then I played about seventy-odd games for the league for three years.

I was lucky enough to play SANFL for Woodville/West Torrens and won a premiership in 2006, which was quite incredible. It was a challenge to get there, but it was great for us to gel as a team and put the game plan into place. To then overcome that huge obstacle was a great thing to be a part of.

We moved to KI in 2010 when we bought our first farm. When we moved over, Becky was pregnant with our first child Jed. I was brought up on the family farm with limiting beliefs of how life is about being busy and how the harder you work the more successful you are. My wife comes from a balanced lifestyle and inspired me to live that way too.

I now work for a coaching business that teaches a whole new way of thinking, a whole new way of farming—a whole new way of life.

I am passionate about making the world a better place. I know that sounds cliché but what I’ve learned over the last four or five years is how many people need support. To be able to support them as a business coach so they can live a better life, is something I am very, very passionate about. I want to be able to see everyone live an extraordinary and wealthy life.

Life throws challenges at us, but those challenges are only stepping stones to a better way of life. It teaches us things. I am very excited where life is headed and what lies ahead for us. I am almost a little too impatient, I am that excited.”

I am a German living in South Australia. We lost our home and farm in the Kangaroo island summer bushfires. I love travelling, reading, beach walks, board games, watching movies and spending time with my family.
